All Sites Guarding Project
The Sentry guarding project was a CADDS Group safety initiative for RTIO, after a guarding audit we performed at Cape Lambert revealed that much of the guarding on site was non-compliant to AS 4024.3610.
CADDS designed and developed a cost effective, modular, compliant guarding system, including associated fixtures, that removed the room for human error associated with the retrofit of regular guarding systems.
We developed a bespoke latch system that automatically secures the guarding with a permanent bolt fix requiring a tool for removal (required by the AS), removing the need to weld on site. We also developed a suite of tooling and accessories to enable full customisation of the guard and mesh without compromising safety or strength. CADDS currently has a patent in place on the guarding system and associated tooling.
We undertook trial site installs across various sites, before being engaged to replace significant sections of guarding across all RTIO operations with the Sentry guarding system.
