New tyre change bay at Western Turner mine site
The client working at Western Turner approached our team with plans for a new tyre change facility at the mine site. Due to restricted budgets, there was a parameter of wanting to re-use an existing slab for the floor of the project, provided it was strong enough.
Our architectural team in CADDS Mining arranged for surveys and structural site inspections to be carried out to determine the suitability of the slab for the heavy 930E trucks. On confirmation that the slab was strong enough, we completed the design and documentation required to turn the site into a tyre change station.
By replicating details of a recently completed jacking slab at another site, we were able to reduce the overall project costs for the client. From both a documentation and construction viewpoint, the project was extremely cost-effective.
