Site Scanning Project
CADDS Group completed large-scale target installation, survey control network installation, 3D laser scanning and post-processing for the fixed plant at RTIO’s Hope Downs.
The CADDS Surveying team were required to complete the GPS, total station, and digital level observations over the control network. Works included control network adjustment and finalisation of coordinates in Mine Grid systems. The in-scope area resulted in over 3,000 scans being completed. CADDS issued data to RTIO as a georeferenced 3D point cloud (related to Mine Grid) in e57 file formats.
CADDS invested significantly in supply the required networking and hardware (processing super-PCs, upgraded networks, physical servicer storage, etc.) to work with survey data at this scale.
Our Leica RTC360 laser scanners captured 3D photogrammetry of the same area captured as the native point cloud data. This allowed for upload into visualisation packages allowing the end-user to switch between point cloud and photos for increased visual fidelity.
